International Truckload Services Merges with Mortrans Truckload
Belleville, ON — May 4, 2018 — Today, International Truckload Services acquires Mortrans Transport Ltd. Two long-standing trucking families will become one after a local merger in the Bay of Quinte region.
This morning (Friday, May 4th), International Truckload Services (ITS) has announced they have signed a deal to acquire Mortrans Truckload. ITS, with 600 employees and 370 trucks, welcomes the Mortans fleet with 65 employees and 45 trucks.
ITS, President and Chief Operating Officer Rob Haggarty, said, “Not only will we keep all their employees, we are also hiring additional drivers and office staff. In our industry, we’re always looking for drivers and owner-operators. It’s a great opportunity and the economy is strong and it’s a really good fit.”
Haggarty adds, “It’s a local family business joining another local family business. And, it’s a great opportunity to grow the trucking market in the Bay of Quinte area and beyond.”
Chairman of the Meyers Transportation Group (Mortrans) Natalie Meyers says, “This is a perfect fit. We are thrilled to not only work with another Quinte area trucking giant, but also ensure our Mortrans family continues to excel in the trucking industry.”
Both ITS and Mortrans Belleville officers are in close proximity, and as part of the deal, ITS will begin leasing the current Mortrans property on Grills Road (Quinte West).
