We are proud to be the first carrier in North America to deliver a truckload of goods to the brand new Proctor and Gamble facility in Shippensburg PA. The facility boasts 1.5 million sq. ft. and is 150 miles due west of Philadelphia and just north of Hagerstown (not to be confused with Haggarty-ville).
A long standing customer of ITS, Procter & Gamble is a global company that provides consumer products in the areas of pharmaceuticals, cleaning supplies, personal care, and pet supplies. With head offices in Cincinnati Ohio, the firm is fast approaching 180 years in business.
The event had ITS driver Ron Page taking the picture of key facility staff just before he unloaded at the new state of the art facility. The town of Shippensburg has an interesting history dating back to 1730 when it was settled by 12 new immigrant families from Scotland and Ireland. The founder’s daughter Peggy Shippen, was married to General Benedict Arnold, the infamous traitor who defected to the British army during the American Civil War.
Two other notable personalities from the small town include Andy Enfield (current head basketball coach at the University of Southern California) and John Hamilton, who starred as Perry White on Adventures of Superman in the 1950s. Oh, and if you’re ever in Shippensburg the last Saturday in August, the small town of 6,000 people and 2 sq. miles, plays host to their annual corn festival which attracts up to 70,000 people. Thank you P&G and thank you Ron Page for making us part of this commemorative moment.
